My go to snacks on the run
The busy modern day lifestyles that the majority of people lead nowadays leaves a lack of time to spend cooking and preparing nutritious food.
One question I get asked a lot is “what are some easy healthy snack ideas”, So I thought it may be useful if I shared some of my favourite healthy snack ideas with you.
These snack ideas are big on flavour but require little time and preparation, Dark chocolate and almonds Fancy a sweet snack? Why not try 20g (2 Squares) of dark chocolate 70%+ cocoa with 30g of almonds.
This is a highly satisfying snack which has the added bonus of being easy to prepare and transport, Both dark chocolate and almonds are high in magnesium and also almonds can help reduce appetite too.
Hummus and vegetable sticks Quick and easy to make also balanced and nutritious and packed full of vitamins, Highly satisfying and Perfect for on the go.
Mixed nuts They contain healthy fat, protein and fibre and make a very nutritious snack, They are relatively high in fat but they are very filling and make a perfect snack on the go being easy to transport with little preparation time.
Greek Yoghurt and mixed berries Greek Yoghurt is high in protein and a great source of calcium and berries are a source of antioxidants too, Keeping you full for hours and with very little preparation time it makes a great snack.
Baby bel light Rich in calcium and protein and zero prep time an ideal snack when you need something you can simply grab and go.
Hard Boiled eggs These will take around 10 minutes to prepare but the benefits are worth the extra time they take to make, They are a great source of protein and vitamins and will keep you satisfied for hours.
A piece of fruit There’s no need to overcomplicate snacks, Why not just grab a piece of fruit like an apple or banana and go , No preparation time, full of goodness and filling what more could you want from a snack. Cheese and Ryvita Another of my favourites, Crunchy, flavourful and satisfying, A laughing cow cheese triangle spread on a couple of Ryvita crackers, High in fibre and calcium, Easy to prepare and transport too.
